Convictions
Convictions has more than earned their place as head of a new class of metalcore acts. The vicious riffs and supernaturally weighty themes found on their studio recordings translate effortlessly to the live setting, electrifying listeners. It’s impossible not to be moved— physically and emotionally— when immersed in their performance.
That was proven by their February 2025 set at The Black Sheep in Colorado Springs, supporting Escape the Fate. The sold-out audience moshed, headbanged, and screamed along. Even attendees who were unfamiliar with Convictions were quickly won over with their ferocious metal delivery.

Escape the Fate’s music is the soundtrack for the elder emo. As a mainstay in the sector since 2004, Escape the Fate’s cheeky anthems have proven their durability— and their singability. The crowd was delirious with delight on both new and old cuts, from “Broken Heart” to “Low” to party closer “One For the Money.”
This is a band who gracefully occupies the space that a precious few bands from the MySpace days have staked out as their own: just the right amount of self-aware, self-abasing foolery, combined with genuine heart in moments like sobriety song “Cheers to Goodbye.”
