NESDAM Performs Debut Show at Lifest

NESDAM hit the music scene in 2021 with the release of their powerful first single, “Crawl.” Since then, there had been a steady growth of anticipation for the debut album (released earlier this year through XOVR Records) and the debut performance at Lifest, a Christian music festival in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Frontman Patrick Madsen is no stranger to Lifest, though. He has performed as a drummer at this festival with (former band) Random Hero and (current band) Zahna, who also had her debut show at Lifest in 2018. Now that he’s taken the stage and performed as a singer, Pat shares “the major differences between being a drummer and being a frontman are the cardio vascular requirements. I can shred all day and head bang behind the kit, but when you got a big high note headed your way after you head banged with your guitar player, you’ll realize real quick it’s a different game!”

NESDAM’s set showed off a variety of styles and topics. The band came out swinging hard with “Manipulator”, one of the heavier album tracks, which calls out people that deceive us and try to ruin us. Midway through the set, a more somber mood was set with “One Block Away”, a song about coming to terms with a friend’s unexpected, tragic passing. Near the end of the set, Zahna joined NESDAM on stage for the song she features on, “Joyride.” Pat shared that his favorite song to perform live was “Crawl” because he “absolutely loves that song, and it’s what started it all.”
