During Uprise Fest this weekend, Skillet invited Disciple frontman Kevin Young on stage to duet chart-topping hit “Monster.” You can watch HD video of the performance below.
Uprise has quickly become the premiere festival for faith-based rock, making it a gathering place for the community– and the perfect opportunity for collaborations. Project 86’s set featured Jason Wisdom from Death Therapy on bass and Joey West of Disciple on drums. Some of the other rock acts present included Lacey Sturm, RED, Spoken, The Protest and As We Ascend.
Skillet and Disciple’s collaboration came as no surprise to longtime fans, who have often seen John Cooper and Kevin Young duet over the 20+ years the two bands have been heavyweights in the rock genre. Notably, some festival-goers might remember the summer that the duo routinely performed a Bon Jovi cover together.
