The Classic Crime has launched a preorder for their sixth studio album via Kickstarter. The band surpassed their initial target goal of $30,000 in just 5 hours, but they’ve added multiple stretch goals as fans are welcome to continue backing the project until November 10.
The album itself is due out in 2019. It will follow 2017’s How to Be Human, which was also funded entirely through Kickstarter. In fact, this is the fourth time that The Classic Crime fans (better known as “Criminals”) have broken records and supported independent albums. In an email blast to fans, the band shared “This will be our 4th album Kickstarter, and 6th full-length album of new songs, marking our independent (with you) career longer and more productive as our career on a label (with them).”
A few of the stretch goals added so far include the release of old demos and instrumental versions of the past albums that were successfully kickstarted (Phoenix, What Was Done, Vol 1 and How to be Human). Additional stretch goals will be added as needed.
Many of The Classic Crime’s preorder packages are already selling out, so be sure to visit their Kickstarter page to claim one. You can also keep up with their progress on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
