Marc Martel and Kevin Max have announced a new collaboration, covering “Under Pressure” for Martel’s upcoming album Thunder and Lightning.
The powerhouse rock vocalists teamed up for the Queen song Martel called “one of the most timeless-sounding rock recordings I know.”
In a post on Facebook, Martel also said “it was a huge honor to enlist the help of another one of my singing heroes, dc Talk’s Kevin Max, to handle the balance” on this classic. In addition, Brent Milligan (producer whose credits include Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, David Crowder Band and Seventh Day Slumber) added “his modern pop take” to the tune.
Kevin Max added in a statement that he “was honored that Marc asked me to guest on on this and excited about what we’ve accomplished!”
Thunder and Lightning will strike everywhere on October 26, 2018.
Kevin Max was a vocalist and keyboardist for dc Talk from 1989 until 2002 and has embarked on a solo career that has allowed for artistic exploration across many genres. He is preparing to release his latest project, Romeo Drive, later this year.
From 1999 until 2012, Marc Martel fronted alternative rock band Downhere and has since been leading a solo career that includes a Queen tribute project formed by Roger Taylor (the original Queen drummer).
