RED Ends Relationship With Sony, Will Continue as Independent Band

Following up on a story we shared recently, RED has spilled their plans for the future of the band.

In a 12-minute YouTube video, the band discusses the multitude of changes coming for RED. “All good things must come to an end,” they began. “The relationship with our label has come to an end and we are going to do this on our own. We are sticking around and have our own label.”

The goal for RED is to start releasing music every 6 to 8 weeks beginning in the Spring while continuing to tour. In order to get them started, they are asking fans to help raise $100,000 to help with the recording and mixing process in a one-time GoFundMe campaign.

RED also announced that they will officially be a four piece band as a result of the departure from Sony Records. Dan Johnson, who has been playing with the band since 2014, is now the official drummer for the rockers.

Finally, one last change to note is that fans should update their bookmarks to the new official RED website, which is now https://www.thebandred.com/. You can of course also find them on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
