Michael Barnes, lead singer for RED, provided guest vocal tracks for the upcoming acoustic album by Breaking Benjamin, according to a post on social media.
“Thank you so much to [Michael] for giving such an amazing performance and for singing with me,” Benjamin Burnley shared on social media.
In an interview with Consequence of Sound, Burnley explained that the acoustic album , which he has been recording while on the road, will feature stripped down versions of current Breaking Benjamin songs along with three new ones. The album is expected in 2019, though an official release date has not yet been published. A post earlier this year would indicate that Lacey Sturm is another guest vocalist.
This is not the first time the two bands have collaborated. Benjamin Burnley cowrote with RED on “Shadows” from their 2009 release Innocence and Instinct.
Earlier this year, Breaking Benjamin headlined a tour featuring Skillet along with Fight the Fury and Underoath. Keep up with Breaking Benjamin and their upcoming tour dates by visiting them at breakingbenjamin.com.
Meanwhile, RED has declared their independence and dropped a fiery new single, “The Evening Hate,” earlier this summer. Make sure you’re following them on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
