21-year-old, award-winning, spoken word artist Egypt Speaks has announced the release of her second book entitled (almost) and a headlining supporting tour. Fresh off an exciting end to 2019, Egypt looks to tackle the emotional complexities of a season of waiting. (almost) is an honest look at the vulnerability of uncertainty. Its stories pick apart the delicate process of a season that many find themselves in today. Through shared experiences and anecdotes, the young writer hopes to guide readers through a process of healing. The work is preceded with a foreword by acclaimed comedian Bone Hampton and includes personal anecdotes and lessons applicable to readers of all ages.
(almost) is set to debut internationally on February 7th, 2020. It will be available for purchase online on Amazon, Walmart, Barnes & Noble, Kindle, and more with an audiobook option set to release simultaneously on Audible and iTunes Books.
In addition to the book release, Egypt has also announced a series of dates for her “Almost Home” headlining tour. The run will feature a poetic and musical performance inspired by the book’s stories and will begin in her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. After it’s hometown kick-off, the run is set to visit some of her favorite venues across the country. Cleveland local Danny Shipley is slated to open the tour’s North American dates. The first leg of the tour has been announced on the artist’s website and social media. More dates, legs, and locations are to be announced in the coming weeks.
