Content Warning: Language on “So We Sing”
Is 2020 the year that ska bursts back onto the scene? Let’s be honest, for some of us, ska never really went away.
Five Iron Frenzy is doing their part by ramping up a 30-day Kickstarter campaign to help fund a new album. Check out this video they shared on social media, then read on to learn about their first single since since 2013 album Engine of a Million Plots.
The band shared on Facebook that “we’ve got a brand new full length record coming out. It’s called Until This Shakes Apart and we are very proud of the work we’ve done so far but we need YOUR HELP to get it into your ears!”
The kickstarter has already raised over $149,000 of a $60,000 goal in just under two days. A pledge of $20 or more secures a copy of the new album when it is released, and higher pledge amounts earn additional rewards such as t-shirts and virtual hangout sessions.
In addition to announcing their new album, the band also released their lead single called “So We Sing,” which is a refreshing return to ska meets punk rock with a bit of grunge.
