We’ve all read the headlines.  We’ve all seen the festival lineup notices: Lacey Sturm is reuniting with Flyleaf for a handful of festivals this summer.  But what’s a band to do that hasn’t played together in ten years? How do you brush the dust off the instruments and prepare to give their fans the best possible experience?

How about a hometown show in the backyard of a BBQ joint in small-town Belton, Texas, where Lacey used to work? Oh, and don’t advertise it or promote it— just invite a few friends?

Well in fairness, in small-town Texas, BBQ is big, and the Flyleaf word-of-mouth network is even bigger.

Our man-on-the-street, Chad Fenner from Concert Fotos, was one of the 2,000 people at Schoepf’s BBQ who “heard it from a friend who, heard it from a friend who, heard it from a friend” — and is sharing what summer festival-goers can expect to see from Flyleaf this summer.
