Former Flyleaf members Sameer Bhattacharya and Pat Seals are teaming up with P.O.D. bandmates Noah Bernardo and producer Dave Hidek to form supergroup Belle And The Dragon.
According to a post on social media and their newly-launched website, the band is set to debut with a January 17, 2020 release titled Birthrights, with limited vinyl available for pre-order. They’ve released their first single and video “Wrestle (with the Devil)” along with the launch of their online presence. The tune is an alternative rocker with Bhattacharya on vocals and guitars, Seals on bass, and Bernardo on drums.
According to their website, “Belle And The Dragon is Sameer Bhattacharya’s first solo project, which affords him the opportunity to write without a filter. The guitarist was one of the the primary songwriters and background vocalists for Flyleaf since 2002. Flyleaf and P.O.D. have been touring and headlining shows together since 2005.”
P.O.D. released Circles in 2018 and has been touring in support of that album, while Flyleaf has not released new music since Between The Stars in 2014 featuring then-vocalist Kristen May. Sameer has been playing guitar with P.O.D. for several years now.
