Silent Planet has announced spring tour dates to coincide with the re-release of The Night God Slept, which they have re-recorded from scratch.
They will be touring with support from Currents, Invent, Animate, and Greyhaven. “It’s a genuine honor to announce our biggest headline tour yet: Trilogy 2020,” Silent Planet posted on Facebook. “It’s been a long time in the making and we hope you can make it out to one of these shows. After everything that’s happened, we are excited to get back on the road and make some memories with you. Love you all.”
Tickets and VIP packages are available at www.silentplanettours.com, with most stops expected to sell out. A full list of shows is also available there and on their Facebook events page.
The first two songs from the re-recorded version of The Night God Slept have also been released. You can find them on Spotify and Apple Music. “What better way to celebrate the 5 year anniversary of our first full-length, than to re-record it from scratch?” the band shared about the venture.
The tour and re-recorded album are part of what promises to be a big year for Silent Planet after 2019 ended with the band cancelling tour dates in order for lead singer Garrett Russell to care for his mental health. While spending December in a mental health facility, Garrett shared a series of vulnerable and transparent updates about his recovery journey. “I wish to be resilient – something that many of you have shown me with the stories you’ve shared at shows,” he shared on Christmas day. “Life is a gift and it’s worth fighting for – even if it’s not what you expect. Even if it hurts like hell. So here I am: Thankful to be alive and thankful for the many folks who have encouraged me while I’m in here. Especially my bandmates and our manager Cory – dudes who still haven’t given up on me.”
