Amongst Wolves Launch #choosetolive Campaign

Choose to Live Campaign

Manchester, UK alt-rock band Amongst Wolves have launched a suicide awareness campaign that is not your typical campaign.

Coinciding with a single release for their song “Voices” (releasing aJanuary 15, 2021), the band wanted to tackle this increasingly important topic. The song, per the band, is all about suicide awareness and choosing to declare Jesus as the source of true life, even in the darkest of times. It’s also a response to rock/metal music that, lately, seems to be romanticizing the idea of taking your own life. They wanted to speak truth into that lie.

In line with that is the launching of their social media campaign called #choosetolive, which started with the below video.

With this video, campaign, and song comes the fan participation in the form of four simple steps. Step One: if you could say one sentence to someone who’s thinking of taking their own life, what would it be? Write a note, post in on Facebook with the hashtag #choosetolive. Step Two: message 3 friends to check in and see how they’re doing. Tell them you’re there for them if they ever want to talk. Step Three: if you’re having suicidal thoughts, or if you’re struggling with your mental health, please reach out to someone. Step Four: share the campaign on social media as much as you’re able.
