Within Temptation has released the lead single from their upcoming album Resist, a song called “The Reckoning” featuring Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix.
The song features Within Temptation’s signature symphonic metal sound, a sound the Dutch group has built through 20 years of worldwide touring and musical mastery. Jacoby Shaddix brings an edge to pair with singer Sharon den Adel’s cinematic range. You can watch the lyric video for the song below.
“RESIST is an utterly distinctive metal record that takes inspiration from our modern and future society – both musically and personally – and casts it into mind blowing arrangements and dark melodies. Stay tuned for December 14th, 2018,” Within Temptation shared in the video’s description.
The collaboration is the latest in not just Within Temptation’s expanding horizons, but Jacoby Shaddix’s growth as well. In addition to putting out two deeply personal Papa Roach albums that deal with his spirituality and sobriety, F.E.A.R. and Crooked Teeth, Jacoby has recorded collaborations with bands like Nothing More and Memphis May Fire while also connecting to the Whosoevers movement.
