Switchfoot, who has spent the year of 2018 largely on hiatus from their usual relentless touring schedule, has posted a cryptic teaser on Instagram.
The teaser involves a set of 9 images creating a collage. The caption of each simply reads “pause. #Home,” two words they have shared repeatedly since announcing their hiatus at the end of 2017. The image itself has also been shared before. But this time, it has one crucial difference: instead of the traditional two bar “pause” sign they had been using, the collage reveals the number 11.
Switchfoot has released 10 studio albums to date (the last one being Where the Light Shines Through in 2016). If they were to release another album, it would be their 11th. Although the details are still scarce, it seems like fans might be able to expect not just Switchfoot’s return, but new music.
