In a video interview with the official Love & Death fanpage admin Cindy Blankenship, Love & Death’s guitarist J.R. Bareis announced that the band should have a long-awaited new album completed by the end of the year.
“I’m sorry it’s been almost 6 years. I can’t take all the blame, it’s not my fault,” Bareis joked at the start of the interview. He went on to share that the band is currently working with producer Tom Hane (formerly of In This Moment) to finish the project after original producer Jasen Rauch (Breaking Benjamin, RED) got too busy with Breaking Benjamin’s touring schedule.
The band just has a few songs left to track vocals for, then drums (most likely with Dan Johnson, drummer for Love & Death and touring drummer for RED), then the project will be complete. J.R. Bareis predicted that it would be done before the end of the year, with a target release in Spring of 2019. He also leaked that his favorite song on the project is called “Say Goodbye.” You can watch the full interview below.
The album is extremely eagerly anticipated for fans, who have been waiting for a follow-up to 2013’s Between Here and Lost. Progress has been slow due to vocalist Brian “Head” Welch rejoining Korn, but it sounds like the wait is almost over.
