Switchfoot Launches Melody League Sessions, Great News Everyone

Switchfoot is continuing to find creative ways to create community during the coronavirus shut down. Their most recent two initiatives are the Melody League Sessions and Good News Everyone.

The Melody League Sessions are a series of livestream performances with some of Switchfoot’s musical friends. The first session was with Colony House on Friday night at 8:00 PM Central, streamed to Colony House’s Instagram.

“Melody League Sessions is a brand new series of free live-stream house concerts, with the goal of supporting the music makers of our time,” the band explained. “Here’s how it works: we collaborated with WEDGWOOD CIRCLE, a non-profit whose mission is to support artists who are creating the good, true, and beautiful in the world. You’ll enjoy the live-streams and we hope you will follow the link to donate and support the artists you see (100% of your tax-deductible donation goes directly to the artists). We are going to foster community, and help artists continue to create the music we all love and need during this pivotal time. Let’s do this together! Thanks to the Wedgwood Artist Relief Fund, 100% of the money raised through donations goes directly to artists among us who are impacted due to the Coronavirus shutdown.”

The other project Switchfoot launched this week is Great News Everyone. Multi-instrumentalist Jerome Fontamillas invited fans to share their good news with him, which he put together for a news installment. You can watch the first episode below:

On top of these new ventures, Switchfoot is continuing to release an acoustic performance every single day. Although most of the tunes have come from Jon, there have been appearances from all of the other band members, as well as others from Switchfoot’s extended music family.

You can keep up with all the ways Switchfoot is lifting spirits by finding them on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter.
