Grizzly award-winning bassist Jason Wisdom keeps pushing genre boundaries with Death Therapy. The project’s latest single, “Guardian Awakening,” takes a step away from previous releases and into the dynamic world of video-game inspired instrumentals.
Starting slow and mysterious before moving into more electronic territory, the tone smoothly shifts from fantasy-style game score to fighting to platformer to racing and every style in between.
“Guardian Awakening” is adventurous and crams an incredible amount of style and feeling into 5 minutes. A guitar solo by Daniel Gailey (Fit For a King, Phineas) allows the synth to take a backseat as the song peaks and fades to a calming end.
