The Midnight Wedding Releases Music Video for “I Swear” feat Andrew Stanton

The Midnight Wedding has released a new music video for their song “I Swear,” featuring Disciple guitarist Andrew Stanton. The song was produced by Josiah Prince, also of Disciple. “I Swear” will be available for streaming and retail on September 4.

The video, which was directed by Joel Burris, featuring a cinematic narrative that follows two warring parts of singer Brandon Trlak’s mind. The internal struggle is represented by a police officer and a criminal. You can watch the video below.

The song itself is a riveting rock track that ranges from the gritty desperation of Brandon’s vocals to the clean edge of co-lead singer Caitlin Trlak’s voice. Urgency seems to build throughout the track, propelled by driving, distorted guitars and a towering solo in the bridge. “I Swear” is a confession of remorse and regret, recognizing a deep need for redemption and an inability to right our wrongs alone.

"I swear someday I'll get this right
I swear that I'll stop telling lies
Like an addict to the drug
I chose the high before your love
I didn't mean to spill your blood
I swear"

Those lyrics seem to echo the cry of the Apostle Paul in Romans 7: “For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing.”

“I Swear” feels instantly relatable, offering an earnest rawness that pairs well with the musical heaviness. The song promises great things to come from The Midnight Wedding’s upcoming debut album Anthem for the Outcast.
