Icon For Hire has released a blistering anthem of defiance with their new song “Dismantled.” The single’s release also served as the announcement of their forthcoming album The Reckoning, which is available at https://iconforhire.lnk.to/thereckoning.
“Dismantled” features a ponderously chugging guitar riff from guitar Shawn Jump under Ariel’s searing vocals, declaring “Take my heart, go ahead and strip me for parts / Pieces have gone missing, no survival instinct / It’s my life, let you use it up one more time / Leaving me in shambles, I’ll survive dismantled.”
With its declarations of resilience through opposition and struggles, “Dismantled” is thematically at home alongside the rest of Icon For Hire’s discography since making the move to become an independent band. The guitars and melodic stylings, however, are more reminiscent of early Icon For Hire releases with their homage to hard rock. It’s a sound that will leave fans hungry for the full album to come.
“Dismantled” follows hard on the heels of “Ready for Combat,” which dropped earlier this spring. The single and album announcement come as Icon For Hire is hitting the road for their first tour in two years. You can find all the dates at iconforhire.net.
